Devin Lane

Devin Lane is a third-generation Coloradan, retired U.S. Army Green Beret, and outdoor educator whose mission is to help people reconnect with nature through practical, real-world advice. After serving 20 years in Army Special Forces—including deployments across Afghanistan, Africa, and the Middle East—Devin returned home to Colorado, where he rediscovered his sense of purpose in the mountains.

Now known online as @OutdoorDevin, he blends hard-earned military lessons with an approachable, down-to-earth style that inspires thousands to get outside safely and confidently. From teaching navigation and wilderness skills to sharing stories of his time in Special Forces, Devin’s content reminds people that adventure isn’t about ego or achievement—it’s about humility, preparation, and rediscovering what matters most.

He currently lives in Colorado Springs with his wife and three kids, exploring 14ers, teaching outdoor skills, and continuing his lifelong pursuit of learning and resilience.
